Ben McFarland has won the prestigious Beer Writer of the Year award no less than three times. Ben has contributed to many publications including Esquire, Jamie Oliver Magazine, The Independent on Sunday, The Guardian, Time Out London and an array of drinks industry titles. He also co-writes a regular drinks column for The Daily Telegraph.
Ben is also a successful author. In 2008 he co-authored The Good Beer Guide West Coast USA, published by CAMRA. 2009 saw the release of World’s Best Beers: 1000 Unmissable Brews from Portland to Prague, published by Aurum Press. Boutique Beers: 500 of the World’s Finest Craft Brews was published in 2013 by Jacqui Small LLP. Most recently, Thinking Drinkers: An Enlightened Imbiber’s Guide to Alcohol, was co-authored in 2014, again published by Jacqui Small LLP.
Ben has also made regular experiences on TV and Radio including BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 2 and LBC, and is one half of the double act which performs the hilarious (and Edinburgh Fringe famous) shows “The Thinking Drinker’s Guide to Alcohol” and “Legends of Liquor”.
